Senior Residential Support Worker – Young Adults’ Residential Homes

Our client’s 17 residential homes are purpose-built to offer a true home-from-home environment. They provide 24-hour care, as well as weekly, termly boarding, and 52-week placements.
As a senior residential support worker, you will play an important role in this setting, helping to create a warm, comfortable, and familiar atmosphere for young adults. Job Role
The Senior Residential Support Worker leads the house team of Residential Support Workers, delivering person-centred care to young adults with learning disabilities and complex health and social care needs.
They ensure staff have the resources and support needed to maintain a high standard of day-to-day service, while also driving the ongoing development and continuous improvement of the service.
In addition to providing direct care and support, the senior residential support worker acts as a key worker. They supervise support workers within the home, manage performance appraisals, and provide mentoring and coaching on key operational tasks. A visible and approachable presence is essential to this role.
Responsibilities
Minimum qualification: QCF Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People Workforce/Health & Social Care/Adult Care (or equivalent)
Previous experience of working in a similar care environment
Knowledge of the CQC Adult Care Home fundamental standards
Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to write and maintain reports / notes and communicate effectively with staff
Experience of working with a variety of communication methods, including PECs, objects of reference and basic signed communication
Previous experience as a key worker
The ability to record and communicate effectively with parents / staff / other professionals.
Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team to enable cohesive teamwork
